viccarbe

Although Viccarbe’s roots cannot be traced back to a specific date, they are firmly planted in a deep passion for design. This project is the fruit of a shared dream, and it is a story based on friendship, humility, learning and admiration for the furniture industry.

Víctor Carrasco Berlanga, founder of Viccarbe, learned to design and create as a result of a pragmatic attitude passed to him by his grandfather in childhood, and this attitude proved to be a big help with his dyslexia.

Víctor’s fascination for objects led to him discovering, one day, a deep interest in the contemporary pieces that had recently arrived in his city, Valencia.

In his youth, he had the chance to discover design from the inside, by learning in classic furniture factories. These factories were very close to where Viccarbe is situated today.

Ruckstuhl

Returning to Switzerland from South America in 1878, Moritz Ruckstuhl discovered coconut mats on the board ship that were used to provide a stable footing in wet weather. This gave him a business idea: manufacturing foot mats from coconut yarn. In 1881, he founded the Ruckstuhl carpet factory in the Swiss city of Langenthal. A year later, the company began manufacturing runners and woven door mats on hand looms. With experience of 140 years of manufacturing premium carpets and acoustic solutions, Ruckstuhl has mastered such craftmanship, producing to the highest quality, all made from natural materials.

Their credo is “Nature becomes Culture” which defines their commitment to sustainability, quality and design. They use natural fibers such as wool, linen, coir and sisal to skillfully create welcoming domestic atmospheres and contributing warmth and comfort. Be it in offices, stores, hotels or at home.
